The Art of Printmaking showcases over fifty artworks from the membership and archive of the Belfast Print Workshop. The exhibition continues throughout August in the Fenderesky Gallery, kickstarting the celebrations for the Belfast Print Workshops' fortieth year in operation.
Selected for this, The Conspirators was created in 2010, one of a body of work developed around the theme of Thalia and Melpomene. Drawing played a key role in these prints, acting as the basis for a vast array of exploration. The work sought to expose the relationship I had with the life models and the print studio in which I had become comfortable, referencing acquired props, creating new iconography and exploring mark-making techniques through spit, foul, and over bitten copper.
